A marvellous Premier highwheel in the collection of Museum De Waag, Deventer, Netherlands. Normally, the bike is not shown, which is a shame.
Beautiful original bike with original nickle and all the details right. Serial number 26942 (estimated 1885-1886) is visible on right side of the neck and on handlebars. With this number we can date it in or around 1885. If I am not mistaken, this bike has single row ball bearing front and cone bearings on the rear hub. This was not the most expensive bike that Premier made, but with its hollow forks it is not bad either.
I made a graphic drawing of HHC / Premier serial numbers, click here.
